We are pleased to host a special guest to our festival.  M.J. Shea
has written a heart warming story for Chicken Soup for the Soul and
the special bond with her mother.

3 PM Janet Kathleen Ettele

Janet tells us that life is filled with chance meetings, and there are some that change
your life in the most unexpected ways.   In three books, the author goes on
to talk about How Patience Works, How Generosity
Works, and How the Root of Kindness Works.
Come and experience the special wisdom that this author has
to share.  Books are hardcover and make beautiful gifts
of love for friends or family.

4 PM Jim Butler
We are pleased to offer to our readers a very magnetic writer in James
Robert Butler.  His is a story of transformation, resilience, and resistance.  Spirit meets
prose, begets poetic transcendent passages in this memoir.

Titles We Are Reading

Burgundy Books was founded in 2006 in East Haddam Connecticut
Our bookstore in that location
was a few steps up from the Goodspeed Opera House and Theatre.
Authors, actors, artists and musicians have presented at our store and gallery.

The owner, Linda Williams attended the University of Connecticut, Temple University,
and the University of Pennsylvania.  She continued on at Yale University as a department administrator
at the Yale School of Management. She assisted in disseminating publications created at Yale for
Hillary Clinton's and Paul Wellstone's Health Care initiatives during their tenure the White House.
She also attended classes and seminars at Yale.  An article in
the Yale Weekly Bulletin and Calendar chronicles her entrepreneurial spirit in
the community.

The new Burgundy Books opened in Westbrook in May of 2013.
We have a presence on Goodreads, LibraryThing, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter

We organize workshops with writers towards publishing.
Published authors give their time at these classes that unfold
during 4 sessions.  Tuition is $350, and is held at Water's Edge and other locations.

Author events are usually held at our store, Water's Edge (Westbrook),and other community locations.
Community Connections are important to us.

We gave a scholarship for 2012 - 2013 of $1,000 to Derek Giles who is attending
Morgan State University in an effort to support higher education
and leadership for the future.  It is a project of ours to do this every year.

We hope to share exciting ideas with the community.  Look for our projects
on television, C-span, and Radio.  Authors come to our store from California
to Maine.  Thank you for being a valued customer.
